WHY I CHOSE THE TITLE "HOW TO SURVIVE IN THE US"
I started learning American English right after graduating from highschool, in 1991. And I happened to take a special course designed for people who would immigrate in the US. That might be the reason why the book "How to survive in the US" was used. I have been taught a lot of things about the country that used to be at the other end of the battle. Fortunately, they were all peaceful and interesting things to me.
15 years later, I got a chance to come to see the country and to "test" the knowledge that I have learnt. There is no much difference between theories and practice as I have experienced. However, "Seeing is Believing", I might not trust what I have read in the book if I had not been there. Further more, I had chances to show people how we think about them, so that we both could have a good communication later on.
Having built this website, I do not have the ambition to provide you with everything about life in the US. The information posted is what has impressed me - a person from a totally different world. I hope it may help you prepare yourself before you arrive the country.
